This morning I woke to find it 19 degrees Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit). I stepped outside and could hear the sound of two neighbors' window-unit air conditioners, running. Of course, it's strange, because the outdoor tempreture is already cooler than the recommended setting for an AC, 24 C, 75 F.
If you're living north of the Mason Dixon line, give the air conditioners a rest. Open a window and turn on a fan.
Toronto did have a four-day hot spell in June. But generally, it's been a very pleasant summer. So give the Earth and your electric bill a break--kill the AC's.
