In addition to resealable containers, there's other food packaging we can re-use, namely rubber bands.

A lot of produce comes bundled by a rubber band: celery and brocoli, just to name a couple. Rather than throw those rubber bands away, I hang them on a knob of a kitchen cabinet. Now when I need a rubber band, I've got a few.

Rubber bands are funny things. There's almost always a use for them. But there's never a need great enough for me to justify buying a package of 200 rubber bands. I mean, I'm not running a business office or a slingshot factory. So by reducing my waste even this little bit, I'm keeping something useful in the process.
