HANG FIVE, One Less Carbon Footprint
I am joining a lot of groups this week here on We can solve it... maybe you'd like to join ours? The Hang Five project is more than a college Summer class project although that is how it started, it is a way to fund the un-fundable and support programs floundering in cut-backs. Join us as we compost our way across Southern California implementing this model. DFB also at dfrancisburns@yahoo.com
The reduction of greenwaste biomass is crucial to our oceans and groundwaters. Greenwaste when contained in plastic bags or covered by dirt in landfills is deprived of the oxygen needed to decompose correctly. The result is a rotting mess of methane/ammoniated poisons that percolate into the water tables. Here in Glendora CA. the HANG FIVE project collects greenwaste from the local business men, restraunts & coffee shops, compost/vermicultures (feeds the composts to earthworms) collects the castings.... and then bags and sells this boutique, donation specific product in the donation venues with the proceeds returned to S.O.S. a fund that supplements our local school district. (I haven't The heard from Gov. Schwarzengger but I am sure this will be appreciated). The HANG FIVE project here in Glendora models a program that can turn waste/poison into a cash crop for towns and cities across the world. India is right now utilizing a very similar program to reduce their biomass dillema. The States fronting on the Mississippi river and tributaries need to do the same to curb the Hypoxia Crisis in the Gulf of Mexico. Perhaps they will, someday, but today in Glendora CA. the HANG FIVE project is already succeeding.
