Thousands Urge the Press to Ask Questions on Global Warming
The press has been asking the presidential candidates thousands of questions on a range of issues, but seldom asks about the greatest threat to our planet: the climate crisis. Americans deserve to know how the next President, regardless of political affiliation, is going to help America win on this critical issue.
According to a recent study by the League of Conservation Voters, TV’s top five political reporters have asked 2,484 questions of the presidential candidates, but have mentioned global warming only three times. Sadly, other political commentators and reporters have shown a similar disregard for this key issue.
The Alliance urged people to sign our petition to the press and more than 28,000 did so in less than 72 hours. We mailed this impressive feedback to the heads of the major TV networks and urged them to fulfill their responsibility to the American public.
