Investment in Green Energy Skyrockets

According to the United Nations, global investment in wind, solar and other forms of renewable energy rose 60% last year to $148 billion. This sharp increase reflects the growing concern about climate change and energy prices, UN officials said last week. Yvo de Boer, the U.N.'s top climate change official says this positive trend is reason to be optimistic about negotiations for a new global warming treaty to cut industrial emissions of carbon dioxide and other atmospheric heat-trapping gases.
